12 Days to Get Your Online Biz Booming: Day 7

systems-and-organizationA booming online business has systems for everything–how you deliver your products and services, payment collection, customer servce, etc.  Creating your business procedures takes time and is an ongoing process.  Create steps for the daily things you do in your business and store those steps/systems into folders. When you use a specific script for someone who inquires about your business opportunity and it works, file the script way in a folder and label it “Business Opportunity Requests.”

The best way to start creating these systems is by noticing what you do. For example, what is your follow-up procedure after an inquiry has been made? Write the steps down so that you can repeat what works.

Having a systematized business keeps your brand consistent–your clients can rely upon you and become familiar with your personal style. Know how to handle all the aspects of your business in a systematized way–how you handle payments, what you do when someone says YES to your business opportunity or service, etc. Eventually your entire business will be one big system!

An example of consistent systems in place that support your finances:

  1. A system of the Agreement: What you and your client can expect while working together.
  2. A system of timely billing: Billing should be done on a monthly cycle.
  3. A system of collecting money: Shopping cart, credit card processing system, PayPal, etc.
  4. A system of how you keep track of your money (bookkeeping). Having a system to handle the money is how you move from hobbiest to a professional business owner.

A systematized business built upon repeatable practices and procedures = a dependable, measurable business that you can grow exponentially.
